MONETARY DONATIONS

One third of the revenue generated by GGB is reinvested into the community. GGB empowers youth to voice what changes they'd like to see in their community. Past community needs supported through GGB have included: buying security systems for families who were victims of home invasions, sponsoring adult exercise classes in the neighborhood, buying food for families in need, providing camp scholarships for youth in the community, etc. This business model allowed the youth participants to invest over $9,000 into the Heritage Park community in 2017.

YOUTH IMPACT

​The youth development program is comprised of over 100+ K-12th grade youth participating in out-of-school time programming that supports the business and teaches these youth tangible skills. We engage with under-served youth in a year-round program in their own neighborhood. The youth in the neighborhood really enjoy these classes and it is the most highly attended program in the neighborhood. Additionally, Heritage Park is considered a food dessert by USDA-- Green Garden Bakery's youth garden and cooking classes provide easily accessible food for the residents within Heritage Park.

ENVIRONMENTAL 
IMPACT

​Green Garden Bakery works hard to follow eco-friendly business practices. We do our part by using biodegradable paints on our packaging, keeping our advertisments paperless, and taking public transportation to all sales. We also compost and recycle our waste.
